PT Essar Indonesia commenced its commercial operations in 1997 and it is the largest producer of Cold Rolled Steel in the private sector in Indonesia.Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, it is located at MM 2100 Industrial Estate, a world class infrastructure and facility, 25 Km on the Jakarta-Cikampek highway with close proximity to its customer base and raw material suppliers, catering diverse market segments with exacting international quality standards of the domestic and international market and a wide customer base in Indonesia and other countries.With an Installed rolling capacity of 400,000 MT per annum including 150,000 MT per annum of galvanized products and 100,000 MT per annum of CR Soft products, PT Essar Indonesia plans to focus on value added soft CR products.

It is also used in making purlins, rainwater gutters, door frames, window frames, wall panels etc.It is used in household goods such as buckets, cupboards, trunks, boxes, and containers. Storage vessels, water tanks etc.Skin passed galvanized sheets are used in domestic appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, air coolers, water coolers & air conditioners. Skins passed galvanized sheets are also used for body making in automotive industry.

PT Essar Indonesia proudly announces the commissioning of it's state of the art Service centre. This service centre, capable of handling up to 0.28 Mio tones of CRFH, CRCA, GP, GPSP, EG, HRPO, Blue slit coils and colour coated materials annually is the first of it's kind in the Essar group.This service centre is aimed to cater to the customer segments which have very high quality and service expectations viz automotive, components manufacturers, white goods, enamel & cookware, precision tubes, electrical stamping, furniture, construction and electrical appliances & panels.

As a part of expansion plan to provide high quality customized products and move up in the niche supply chain, PT Essar Indonesia inaugurated the new CR slitter on 11th Jun'08. This along-with the 2 new cut to length lines (mini shear and big shear) inaugurated last month has marked the completion of the service centre expansion project.The new service centre facility will use PT Essar's cold rolled and galvanized products and will also be available for tolling requirements. The new setup can supply material of thickness ranging from 0.2mm to 3.2 mm, width from 30mm to 1380 mm and length from 100 mm to 6000 mm. We aim to be more than just a material supplier, we aim to be a true service provider - to provide a fast, convenient and highly flexible service for customers using smaller quantities of steel on a more local level.
